Dr Kimberly Sussman, Board Certified Internal Medicine

Dr. Sussman completed her doctorate degree at Kansas City University School of Medicine in Kansas City, MO, and also holds a M.Sc. in Immunology from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, and a B.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. 

Her breadth of experience goes well beyond her primary specialty in Internal Medicine, encompassing significant expertise in Chronic Disease Research, Immunology, Surgery, and Emergency Medicine. Additionally, she has participated in various teaching and training roles, sharing her thorough and deliberate approach in resolving patients' medical issues.

Meeting Dr. Sussman, one is immediately struck by her palpable passion for medicine and her dedication to her profession and patients, evident in the time she dedicates to understanding patient concerns and assisting them in achieving their health objectives.

Dr. Sussman is an academically accomplished and talented individual. She has conducted clinical research with both Bayer Corporation and Schering-Plough. Her most notable research, "Accelerating the resolution of antigen-induced airway inflammation by gene transfer of TGFB-1 in experimental asthma models," has been recognized and published in medical and research journals.

A fervent proponent of early and consistent mammogram screenings, she emerged triumphant in her own battle with Breast Cancer, having been diagnosed at a critical juncture. To raise awareness, she has given guest lectures on "Image-Detected Breast Cancer Diagnosis" and "Breast Cancer Chemotherapy Regimens."

Dr. Sussman has ceased regular hospital rounds, including her teaching and training duties, to dedicate her time on her private practice patients. She still maintains strong affiliations with area hospitals, including Wellington Regional Medical Center, Bethesda Memorial Hospital, Palms West Hospital, and Delray Medical Center.
