• Dr. Sussman usually prescribes extra refills for daily medications to last until the next scheduled follow-up or necessary monitoring appointment. 

• For new prescriptions, a follow-up appointment is often needed after the initial period to ensure that the medication and its dosage are effective and producing the intended results.

• Check your medication label if any refills are available. If there are, simply request the refill with your pharmacy.

• All prescription medications have suggested appointment intervals to adhere to insurance or pharmaceutical monitoring and documentation guidelines for patient safety.

• Controlled or scheduled medications are governed by strict refill regulations established by the DEA. These medications necessitate an in-person appointment, which must occur within 90 days of the last refill and be specifically related to the medication's use.
