Medication Refill Request

• Medications taken on a daily basis are generally prescribed with the maximum number of refills allowed—often enough to cover a full year or until the next required monitoring visit set by the pharmaceutical company or insurance. 

• New or changed prescriptions typically require closer follow‑up to assess its effectiveness or tolerability. Dr Sussman will advise you when prescribed.

• Check your medication label or the pharmacy where it was filled if any refills are available. If there are, simply request the refill with your pharmacy.

• Controlled or scheduled medications are governed by strict refill requirements established by the DEA. These medications, by law, necessitate an in-person appointment that cannot exceed 90 days of the last refill.
